The Georgia Black Doula Day Conference (GBDDC), presented by the Georgia Black Doula Network and Training Institute, and aims to bring together Black doulas, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to discuss the importance of culturally competent care in maternal health, particularly for Black women. The conference provides a platform for networking, education, and advocacy, with the ultimate goal of improving birth outcomes and reducing health disparities in Georgia.

Objectives

To raise awareness about the importance of culturally competent care in maternal health, particularly for Black women.

To provide education and training on best practices for supporting Black women during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum.

To facilitate networking opportunities for Black doulas, healthcare professionals, and community leaders to collaborate and share resources.

Pregnancy Information Circle & Lunch, PIC'L,
A complimentary, six-week Virtual Childbirth Education series led by experienced Doulas. This comprehensive online program offers evidence-based information within a culturally sensitive framework, empowering pregnant, birthing, and postpartum families to make informed decisions about their maternal care, birthing options, and community resources.

Mama Talk
An informational support group for pregnant and postpartum Black families, hosted, either virtually or in-person, by the Atlanta Doula Collective, Inc. Each Mama Talk features a relative topic of discussion, led by a community expert. This community forum has been cultivated to be a safe space for Black families to share their birth stories, birthing fears and fertility concerns. The Mama Talk program also grants opportunities for participants
to share common experiences, support one another and empower themselves with new information.
